Common Haircare Mistakes to Avoid

Here are our tips to avoid common haircare mistakes if you are wanting to achieve healthy, strong, and gorgeous hair.

Good things come to those who wait!

You’re keen to start your healthy hair journey, but achieving amazing results takes time and patience. With our Plant-Based Hair Dyes you will receive beautiful colour with added volume and shine, but to maintain these stunning results we recommend using hair care products that are free from harsh synthetic chemicals, like PEGs, SLS, colourants, and parabens. Products with these chemicals may seem to have an instant positive impact on your hair, but over time they dehydrate your hair, making it fragile and prone to breakage. Our hair care is non-toxic, chemical-free, and lovingly formulated with plant-based compounds to encourage healthy growth and nourishing care over continued use. So, future you will be thanking past you for your patience!

Wake me up, before you go grow

Waiting for your hair to grow is like watching paint dry, however, the results truly speak for themselves. We’ve been taught that trimming your hair will make your hair grow faster, however, try not to get into the habit of constantly chopping off your ends without needing to. If you do have split ends, we encourage you to get regular trims as the damage will travel up your lengths and result in worse breakage, but also try stimulating blood to your scalp with regular massages, instead. Using our Wondertree Intensive Hair Oil during this process will give you amazing results. The added circulation that is encouraged by scalp massages, combined with the nourishing ingredients in our hair oil will encourage growth. The oils will also encourage your hair to grow stronger, as your hair follicles will happily absorb the helpful, organic ingredients.

Out of sight, out of mind

When we try and avoid heating tools for healthier hair, we can turn to tying our hair up, so we don’t have to deal with it not looking how we want it to. When you do this, avoid pulling on your scalp too much as with tight updos the traction can damage the delicate hairs around your scalp, and you may even get a sore head too. Let your hair down so that your scalp isn’t under strain, get some air into your follicles, and embrace your hair’s natural state. This lack of strain will take the pressure off of your hairline.

No more bubbles

When we typically sit back and enjoy a relaxing bubble bath, we tend to tie our hair up as soaking our hair in these products can expose our locks to unnecessary fragrances, colourants, and chemicals. This in turn can lead to your hair drying out, strip hair dye from your locks that you worked to achieve and cause excess breakage. However, with our Relaxing Bubble Bath and Vitalising Bubble Bath, our organic and natural formulas are gentle and benefit your hair! So, let your hair down and enjoy a deep soak as your hair absorbs the beneficial ingredients that help to gently cleanse and nourish your hair and scalp. We recommend washing off after your bath though, to ensure there’s no build-up of product for a refreshed feeling.
